Company Information

Deep Roots in the Trade
Fred Foster and John Godfrey, who built a solid reputation in South Florida for providing quality electrical services at competitive rates, founded Universal Electric of Florida, Inc. in 1979. Phillip Kroyman joined the company in 1984. After working there for eight years, Phil started his own company, Philco Electric, providing residential and light commercial services. In 1999, Universal and Philco merged under the name Universal Electric of Florida.

Our staff includes licensed Master Electricians, Journeyman Electricians, and apprentices. We’re proud to say that about 30 percent of our field workers are enrolled in the Electrical Apprenticeship program at the Associated Builders and Contractors Institute in Coconut Creek, Florida, working toward Journeyman status.

We are a certified DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) in Broward County, and members of both the National Fire Protection Association and the Construction Association of South Florida.

An Experienced Team
As company owner, Phil heads up a talented team of Project Managers, Service Managers, Field Supervisors and Estimators, most with 20+ years of professional electrical experience in South Florida. Furthermore, all of our employees are OSHA trained and certified.
